Paloma Ramos

Paloma Ramos was born in Monterey, California, and raised both in California and Queretaro, Mexico. At the age of 6, her music career began with being cast in the lead role of the stage production and subsequent children’s album of, “The Littlest Christmas Tree.” Her director and teachers noticed Ramos’s “unusually mature” understanding of music and performance, and under their guidance, she matriculated into both vocal and piano lessons.

Following numerous stage plays, talent shows and contests, Ramos began writing her own songs at the age of 14. The same year, her relocation to Queretaro introduced her to the first band she would lead, Doble UC. The band became a Central Mexico staple while touring the region’s most popular venues and nightclubs.

A short time later, Ramos earned a top-5 finalist seat in the Miss Teen California Pageant, ultimately winning second place for the “talent” category with her rendition of “The Star-Spangled Banner.”

Endeavoring to the next level, Ramos began studying under Metropolitan Opera singer and award-winning vocalist, Linda Purdy. Ramos’s new band, SAQ based in Monterey, soon won the Battle of the Bands in California.

Paloma then attended the University of California at Santa Cruz where she continued classical voice training, and then formed the Latin Pop group “Paloma and the Rubies.” Paloma and the Rubies performed shows at legendary mainstays including The Catalyst Mainstage (earlier graced by Janis Joplin, The Beach Boys, Nirvana, and more) alongside Rebelution and Collie Buddz. As a budding recording artist, her voice was featured on the worldwide demo of the Antares Harmony Engine, made popular by Imogen Heap and Jason Derulo.

In her third year of undergraduate studies, she was signed to Sound Management Inc, an artist management company managing acts that include Smash Mouth, t.A.T.u. and Keke Palmer.

Through Sound Management she was able to write and record in collaboration with their network of producers, helping to form the sound you hear from her today. Also during this period, she toured with Natalia Kills of Cherrytree/Interscope records as the opening act for Robyn’s National Body Talk Tour.

Carrying forward with her reputation, she then formed the Bay Area electro hip-hop group, “The P-JAYZ,” which went on to release an album, and performed at Van’s “Warped Tour” at Shoreline Amphitheatre, selling out numerous California venues, alongside acts including Far East Movement and Andre Nickatina. During this period, she also started training as a vocal coach at The Keith Holland School of Music in Los Gatos, CA.

After graduating college, Paloma moved to Los Angeles California, where under her stage name, "Paloma Rush," she has been writing, recording and releasing Latin, RnB and pop music, and now writes songs for her own projects, other artists, and also for commercial TV and film licensing.

Paloma Rush’s songs have been featured on shows and films that include MTV’s “Real World,” FOX’s “Bones,” E!’s' “Keeping up With The Kardashians,” The CW’s "Jane the Virgin," Oxygen’s “Bad Girls Club," E!’s "So Cosmo,” FX’s “Pose,” Lionsgate’s feature film “Hunter’s Moon,” and most recently on FOX’s “Our Kind of People”

Paloma’s vocal coaching firm boasts an accomplished clientele including label-signed and independent up & coming artists, Broadway Actors, ESPN sports announcers, and E-Sports casters. Some of her current roster include talent from Jojo Siwa’s new girl-group XOMG POP!, Frida Guzman, the recent winner of Season 25 of “Tengo Talento,” and she herself was featured on NBC Universo’s, “The Riveras,” coaching Jenny Rivera’s younger brother, Johnny Rivera.

Paloma also hosts the music interview show, “The Right Track,” where she interviews artists, producers, and music executives about their careers and what it takes to be a professional in the music industry.

You can find Paloma’s music on all platforms with streams into the hundreds of thousands.

Yelp Review: "I'm a professional actor that has done a fair share of work in musical theater, including performing with the national tour of The Book of Mormon. My actor training didn't focus much on singing and I wanted to improve my knowledge and gain better command of my singing voice. I've been taking lessons with Paloma for 2 1/2 months now and I can honestly say in that short amount of time she's helped me gain a better understanding of my voice, of singing and she's improved the quality, range and tone of my voice. She has a wealth of exercises she employs to help me overcome my challenges and address concerns from multiple angles. In addition to a full hour of vocal work during class, she provides voice memos, YouTube links and other resources for homework drills to help you continue your growth between sessions. I highly recommend Paloma for artists at all levels who are seeking to improve their vocal instrument."

Yelp Review: "I'm a working voice over actor and singer, and Paloma has changed my career. After working with her for a couple month, I've been booking at least 25% more gigs I audition for. I can't believe how much difference strong technique makes.  Thank you so much!"

Yelp Review: "I was in search of a vocal coach just because it seemed like I was using my vocal chords wrong and my throat was in so much pain. I called a few vocal coaches and Paloma was the first to respond. She was so kind and helpful during the consult. She explained that her schedule was too busy and I could either wait for her schedule to open up, or work with one of their coaches, Julaiah.

I was hesitant to work with anyone but Paloma because her reviews really sold me, but I needed immediate help! So I signed on with Julaiah and I'm so glad I did. Julaiah is so sweet and encouraging. She teaches me so much about how my vocal chords work and how sound is created in my body and head. She teaches great exercises to help with the pain in my throat AND we are working on my signing skills over all! Because it's all related, right?

I'm so glad I signed up. And thank you Julaiah! I enjoy my sessions with you so much!!"

Yelp Review: "Julaiah is my favorite vocal coach I've ever had. She is kind and passionate about teaching, and will not hold out on any advice she has to help you improve. Her breathing exercises and understanding of human anatomy will help you build the resonance you need! I plan on booking her many times in the future and am grateful to have her assist me on my vocal journey!"

Joel Junior was born and raised in Brasilia, Brazil, where he grew up surrounded by musicians. He started singing in church when he was 2 years old. Since then his passion for music only grew, learning how to play the guitar, the drums and the saxophone, but his one passion was only one: singing.  His first vocal training started with his choir conductor Douglas Vasques, who graduated from the School of Music of Brasilia. In 2011 he won the talent show in his hometown by singing his eye is on the sparrow in a duet with his friend Sarah Mendonça.

In 2013 he went to New York and studied musical theater where the magic happens. He was vocally trained by names such as Rosemary Loar, Deidre Goodwin, and 'Phantom of the Opera' actor Jeremiah Downes.

Back to Brazil, Joel landed his first lead role in the original musical "NYC: Dreams of Broadway", where his was trained for the role by the nationally known singer Chris Dantas. The musical attracted thousands of viewers and great reviews . Soon after, Joel also worked in 2 other original productions, one of each he also co-wrote. And in between productions, Joel was also leading the youth choir and worship groups at the Filadeifia Baptist church, which had about 45 people singing.

Joel Junior is a vocal arranger with a great hearing talent. He has created vocal arrangements for recording artists, choirs, musicals, and just for fun with videos on YouTube.

Working as a vocal coach for a few years in Los Angeles, Joel is proud to be a part of the Paloma Vocals team!

Yelp Review: "Joel Jr. @ Paloma was AMAZING! I am still at awe with their ability to make me feel comfortable and quickly engage into an actual lesson. It was the first lesson I have ever had on singing and am definitely coming back. No words can describe the joy and anticipation of the experience. This lesson changed my musical path 100% to become a better singer. I can't say enough good things.."
-Isaac M.

Yelp Review: "My now 11 year old daughter has been taking voice lessons with Paloma for about a year and has loved it (Paloma's amazing, but you can read about that in other reviews). Due to schedule changes (ours) she moved a couple of months ago to lessons with Joel.  He is equally amazing.  His energy is perfect  for bringing my daughter out of her shell and really getting her to give each lesson her all.  He's also extremely knowledgeable and explains all of the warm ups and exercises to her so she understands the purpose behind each one.  He's communication response time is impressive as well, which I love.  Can't go wrong with Joel!"
